its really hard to say, i was nursing a lady who had the same condition and from when she started to turn yellow she had apporximatley 2 months. she was also older so she had other conditions also. im not sure but maybe speak to a doctor about recieving palliative care in the home so equipment may be hired/ or kept aside. (syringe driver, and someone who knows how to set it up initially) royal district nursing service (RDNS australia)is a great contact and will be able to assist with medical management. it is so important that the person will remain pain free right till the end
Miss D, I am very sorry that you have to go through this. I completely understand where you are coming from.
I recently lost a sibling because of this. He was diagnosed with the same problem, had jaundice (turning yellow) and had cancer.
He had surgery to treat this but eventually, chemotherapy and other sorts of treatments were so strong (and since the tumors were large) there was no chance he was going to make it.
He passed the following hours after chemotherapy and was only a teen.
I am sorry that you have to go through this, may my prayers be will you.
This person will not have a lot of time to live so PLEASE spend time with this person and try to treat him the way as if he didn’t have cancer. Don’t remind him of this and just treat him as you always had.
